Sylvan Heilbrunn (1907-1996) began practicing law in Hudson County,
New Jersey in 1929. He
relocated his practice to Old Bridge Township (then Madison Township), New Jersey in 1951.
He quickly established himself as a real estate and land use expert. Heilbrunn Pape, LLC is
the progeny of the law firm started by Sylvan Heilbrunn in 1951.
The firm maintained offices in Old Bridge, New Jersey from 1950 to 2005, relocating to
Millstone Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey in May of that year.
Jonathan M. Heilbrunn and Kenneth L. Pape have practiced together since 1980.

A name partner in the firm, Mr. Pape has been an AV Preeminent® rated attorney since 2005. He graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1975. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden in 1980. Mr. Pape has been a member of the firm since 1980 and a partner since 1984.
Mr. Pape is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (including the Land Use Section) and the Middlesex County Bar Association.

Jonathan M. Heilbrunn graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance and Commerce where he received his Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1962. He graduated from Rutgers University School of Law receiving his Bachelor of Law Degree in 1965 and his Juris Doctor degree in 1968. He was admitted to the Bar in New Jersey and to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1966. Thereafter, he was admitted to practice law in Maine and New York.
He served a Judicial Clerkship to the Assignment Judge of the County of Middlesex for the year 1965 through 1966. Thereafter, he served as a legal assistant to the then Prosecutor of the County of Middlesex for the period of one year.
He served a one-year Judicial Clerkship to the Assignment Judge of the County of Middlesex in 1965. Thereafter, he served as a legal assistant to the then Prosecutor of the County of Middlesex for one year. He joined the firm in 1966 and has been a member ever since.
Mr. Heilbrunn is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Middlesex County Bar Association.

Graduate of Rutgers University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law cum laude. He was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 2004 and New York in 2005. Mr. Klouser served as the law clerk for the Hon. Lawrence M. Lawson, A.J.S.C in Monmouth County. Following his clerkship, Mr. Klouser joined the firm in 2005, where he has been in private practice ever since. Mr. Klouser represents both individuals and entities in the business community. He practices throughout the courts of New Jersey.
Graduate of Northeastern University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He continued his education at California Western School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. Mr. Pape was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 2019. He joined the firm in the spring of 2019.

Steven Kropf has been practicing law continuously in New Jersey in Family Law, Criminal Law and Commercial Litigation since 1974. He is admitted to practice before all New Jersey Courts as well as the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, US Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United State Supreme Court.
